These holidays are extended from 10 January 2024 to 19 January in the Whole of Punjab. The Government of the Punjab School Education Department has issued a notice concerning an extended winter holiday until the 19th of January 2024, for the classes Nursery, Prep, and below, in the wake of frigid weather and the resulting spread of pneumonia among infant children.’The latest announcement that was issued from the School Education Department on January 10th has made wearing masks mandatory for students, teachers, and other school employees all over Punjab.
The notice of school closing in Punjab released today also stated that students are allowed to wear warm clothes apart from uniforms to protect against the cold.

New SOPs for Punjab School and College 2024
1. Extension for Nursery and Prep Students
The extended winter vacation is only available to prep and nursery students in Punjab. Contrary to reports that suggested that there would be a general extension to all classes through January 15, the official announcement stipulates that only prep and nursery students will get an extended break that is expected to last until the 19th of January.
2. Ban on School Assemblies
To reduce the risk of the cold winter weather in Punjab, there will be a school ban on assemblies until the 31st of January in Punjab. This precautionary measure is designed to protect students from exposure to harsh weather conditions in gatherings.
3. Health Advisory
Chief Minister Naqvi has stressed that it is crucial to prioritize health for children. If a child develops symptoms such as fever, cough, or throat problems It is recommended to confine the child to home and not send the child to school. This health warning demonstrates the government’s dedication to the health and well-being of students.
4. Dismissal of Rumors
In response to speculations, Naqvi denied rumors of an extension of the winter break for students in grades 1 through 10 up to January 14. He stated that so the students are properly attired for weather conditions, going to school shouldn’t pose concerns.
