New Petrol Prices in Pakistan from 16 September 2024 have been revised. The federal government has reduced petrol and diesel prices. It reflects a decrease in global oil prices for the latter half of September 2024. The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has modified the consumer prices of petroleum products in response to recent changes in the international market. The new prices will take effect from midnight on September 15th. OGRA provides the finance division with a summary of fuel prices every fifteen days.

Additionally, the price of light diesel has been lowered by Rs 12.12. These revised prices will be effective for the upcoming fortnight beginning September 16.

Govt Announces Reduction in Petroleum Prices
The updated price for petrol is now Rs 259.10, while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs 249.69. Additionally, the cost of kerosene has decreased by Rs 11.15, bringing it down from Rs 169.62 to Rs 158.47. Light diesel oil has also seen a reduction of Rs 12.12, with its price falling from Rs 154.05 to Rs 149.13. In the last three adjustments, the prices of petrol and diesel have decreased by PKR 16.50 and PKR 20.88 per liter, respectively. This reduction in petroleum prices is attributed to a significant decline in international oil prices, which have dropped by 8.5%, from USD 79.39 per barrel on August 30, 2024, to USD 72.67 per barrel.
New Petrol Prices Notification Released
The OGRA, after discussions with the petroleum ministry, submitted a summary to the finance ministry. OGRA suggested a price reduction ranging from Rs 6 to Rs 10, in light of the decline in international prices.
