A new and innovative step has been made by the Punjab Government to benefit its people Every citizen now can apply for the number plate of their preference by completing “Apni Gari, Apni Number Plate” in Punjab. You can also put your business name, personal names of loved ones, or any other numbers you want on your license plate. These are the by-name plates for minibusses, cars, buses and motorcycles.\

Punjab Apni Gari Apni Number Plate Scheme 2024 is announced on 26 August 2024. These personalized number plates have been accepted from The Punjab Government and comply with the Provincial Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965. If you have the proper license you are able to send personal messages, remember somebody special, or display an updated style.

This is an excellent initiative from this department. Punjab Government Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department. Anyone who is interested can apply for their own vehicle number plates of their choice, with unique names, company names and even special numbers and alphabets. The department hasn’t provided the cost of the Number Plates. You can however contact the numbers listed for the department if they have established rates specifically for these number plates.
